Sebastian has a lot to offer. In addition to some of the region’s finest fishing, it is home to the best surfing in Florida. You'll find scuba diving, sky diving, golfing, shopping and great dining. Sebastian is also within easy reach of popular tourist destinations such as Orlando, Cape Canaveral and several cruise ship ports which always make fun escapes.
The
St. Sebastian River — A popular spot for camping,
hiking, and kayaking. The river is also a great place for
watching
manatee.
Pelican Island National Wildlife Refuge — President
Theodore Roosevelt established the first wildlife refuge
in the country in 1903. Today it is home to over
a dozen endangered species including manatees,
sea turtles, and a wide variety of birds.
Water Sports — From the shores of
the Indian River Lagoon, to Sebastian's new pool and aquatic
center,
to the crashing waves of the inlet, Sebastian offers dozens
of ways to enjoy the water including, fishing, boating, canoeing
and kayaking, jet skiing, swimming, scuba diving and more.
Sebastian Inlet State Park — The inlet
offers just about every kind of sport fishing an angler could
ask for, including Snook, Red Fish, and Tarpon. It is also
known
for great surfing. The inlet campground offers some fifty
campsites, including waterfront sites—all equipped
with water and electric hook-ups, grills and picnic tables.
Vero Beach Area — In addition to all the great things that Sebastian has to offer, Vero Beach is just a few miles away and offering—more great restaurants, cinemas, outlet shopping malls, museums, adult classes and cultural and sporting events.
